Mitsuno Reedy will offer a workshop on “Painting the Portrait” in conjunction with her “Dances with Brushes” exhibit at The Depot Gallery. The two day workshop will take place from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm (with a lunch break) on Wednesday and Thursday, June 8 and 9. Tuition is $200. The workshop is appropriate for beginning to intermediate students. Advanced students are welcome as well. By learning how an image is built on a series of relationships, students learn the process of painting the head from a live model and learn the visual principles at each stage of development. Reedy has been painting portraits in pastel and oil since mid-1970s and received commissions from public as well as private clients over the past 40 years. Her commissioned portraits include corporate and civic leaders, college deans, doctors, military officers, and family and children's portraits. Her works were included in the publication Portrait Inspirations as well as numerous other national publications.
