Important Announcement

The Depot Gallery and office will be closed until at least the end of May, 2020. We will reassess at that time. Phone messages will be checked regularly and calls returned. We do this out of an abundance of caution and concern for the health of our community.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Kyle ReidKyle Reid and The Low Swingin’ Chariots were the Winter Wind Member’s Choice artist selection for the 2017-18 concert season.  The band will be at The Depot, 200 S. Jones, on December 17, 2017, featuring Kyle Reid, guitar and vocals; Steve Boaz, drums; Johnny Carlton, bass; Kevin Stringfellow, trumpet; and David Leach, keys.  This is the third in this year’s collaborative series between The Depot and Jazz in June.  Music begins at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are $20.

Depot Board President and Winter Wind Chair Trisha Bunce says “The Depot strives to not only bring in the best quality touring artists but to also support the wonderful talent right here in Oklahoma, and with Kyle Reid, we have the opportunity to do both. We are very excited to welcome him back to our stage.”  Depot members voted in agreement!

Kyle Reid has made himself a student of classic American music, from New Orleans jazz and blues to gospel musings on his homemade cigar box guitars. His 2014 full band release “Alright, Here We Go...” featuring his band, the Low Swinging Chariots, was named best Okie Album of 2014 by The Daily Oklahoman. That album was followed by his self recorded, self released EP “Don’t Be Afraid…” featuring tunes performed on his home made cigar box guitars. Kyle performs regionally with his band and solo at festivals and venues large and small.

After a year living in Kansas City, and a Summer recording his next album in New Orleans, Kyle has returned to Norman, his “musical home,” to continue writing, recording, collaborating and performing with his Okie musical brethren.
