Audrey AuldTasmanian singer-songwriter Audrey Auld brings a presence as big as the Outback to the Norman Depot, 200 S. Jones, on Sunday, November 3 at 7:00 pm, as part of the Winter Wind Concert Series.

“Audrey is the real deal. I call her the Australian songbird. She has that wide-open sound & it’s easy to relate to her music because she sings from the soul.” ~ Jimmy LaFave.

An honest and witty writer and a spontaneous comedienne, Auld is never afraid to venture into the dark places of life and shine a humorous light upon them. It's in her live show that you'll really meet her. She's entertaining, funny, heartfelt and dry. She's wickedly witty with a country sound. But don’t be fooled – she’s Australian after all. This affords her a totally different attitude as an artist than traditional American contributors to this genre.

Her songs are the wry and poignant observations of an Aussie troubadour touring the States since 2003. Recorded in Nashville, Auld's 2013 release Tonk is a breath of fresh country air, right out of a Saturday night honky tonk. "Right from the outset, this latest release sets out to be a blueprint of how traditional country music can be made relevant in the 21st Century and Audrey succeeds in this mission." ~ Three Chords and the Truth, UK

Ever the fearlessly independent woman, she runs her own label Reckless Records, on which she has released ten albums and two EPs as of this year. She enjoys great success as a songwriter with songs recorded by Nashville stars and Carter Family descendants, and heard on the Grand Ole Opry and TV shows (Justified, The Good Guys, Longmire.) Auld has also recorded with numerous artists including Kieran Kane, Fred Eaglesmith, Mary Gauthier, Dale Watson, Kasey Chambers, and Carrie Rodriguez.

Audrey lives in East Nashville with her plumber husband, good dogs, wayward chickens and emancipated frogs.
