Oklahoma poet Jane Vincent Taylor will be featured at the Second Sunday Poetry Reading in the Depot, 200 S. Jones, beginning at 2:00 pm on April 14, 2019.
Jane Taylor is the author of five books of poetry, all of which has been inspired by, or later generated, collaborative projects. When We Say Shelter was written in tandem with the poet, Anita Skeen. The Lady Victory, a collection of narrative poems, was adapted for the stage by Ann Folino White at Michigan State in 2013. Jane’s latest book Pencil Light was launched in May, 2015, at Artspace@Untitled Gallery in Oklahoma City. The poems served as inspiration for 28 pencil drawings which were then exhibited as part of the opening reading. Reaching across creative forms, across differences, and toward the unknown is her preferred mode of making poems.
Jane has taught creative writing at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. For more about Jane’s writing life and to read samples of Jane’s work visit her at janevincenttaylor.blogspot.com.
Events at The Depot are made possible, in part, by grants from the Norman Arts Council and the Oklahoma Arts Council, The City of Norman, and by generous corporate and individual donations.
