Sarah Webb will be featured at the December 9, 2018 Second Sunday Poetry Reading beginning at 2:00 pm at The Depot, 200 S. Jones. Webb will read from her 2018 memoir, Red Riding Hood’s Sister, which looks into abusive marriage. The poems in this collection mix fairy tale and dream with the everyday to tell the story of a girl not so different from anyone else who finds herself in a desperate situation. What traps us? What can set us free?
Webb is the former poetry editor of Crosstimbers, an interdisciplinary journal from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Her poetry collection Red Riding Hood's Sister was published this spring by Virtual Artists Collective. Her earlier book, Black (Virtual Artists Collective, 2013) was a finalist for the Oklahoma Book Award and for the Writers' League of Texas Book Award.
Second Sunday Poetry Readings have been hosted by former Oklahoma Poet Laureate and Oklahoma Book Award winner Carl Sennhenn since The Depot’s founding in 2003. There is no admission charge.
Programs at The Depot are made possible, in part, by grants from Oklahoma Arts Council and Norman Arts Council.
