Former Norman resident Robin Schultz will be featured at the Second Sunday Poetry series in The Depot, 200 South Jones, on November 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to the free reading.
While living in Norman, Schultz taught English at the University of Oklahoma and at Rose State College. Two books of his poetry were published by Point Riders Press in Norman during that time. He was prominent in the local poetry scene.
While teaching at OU, Schultz founded Poetry Around, which began as mimeographed sheets of original poetry and evolved into a publishing company which published chap books featuring poets state-wide. At Rose State he was one of the original Poetry at Rose readers.
Schultz now enjoys traveling across the US in his retirement and returns to Norman periodically for a visit.
The Second Sunday series continues on December 9, featuring the poetry of Sarah Webb.
The Depot offers an intimate listening room for concerts and poetry, The Depot Gallery, Summer Breeze concerts in Lions Park, a rental venue for private and community events, and Amtrak service each morning and evening, all in a beautiful historic building.
Depot programs are supported, in part, by grants from Norman Arts Council and Oklahoma Arts Council.
