Cimarron Opera to Perform at Norman Depot
Enjoy the superb voices of Norman’s Cimarron Opera performing in the historic Norman Depot, 200 South Jones Avenue, during the 2nd Friday Circuit of Art on February 10. Performances begin about 6:30. Also enjoy “Squaring the Circle”, the abstract paintings of Carolyn Faseler, featured in the Depot Gallery through February. There is no admission charge.
The only professional opera company in the metro area, Cimarron Opera has been performing and delighting audiences throughout the state since 1975. Since its inception, Cimarron Opera has attracted many promising singers throughout Oklahoma, rewarding them with solid experiences and valuable training beyond the traditional studio-classroom setting. As a member of the Oklahoma Arts Council Touring Roster, the company has toured children's operas such as Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and many others, as well as adult opera productions.
The Opera Company invites everyone to “come see us at the Performing Arts Studio during 2nd Friday on February 10! Some of our best singers will be performing throughout the evening. Bring the whole family, peruse the spectacular artwork in the PAS gallery, and enjoy the superb voices of Cimarron Opera.”
Gallery exhibitions in the Depot Gallery and Cimarron Opera are both supported in part by grants from the Oklahoma Arts Council. PAS office and gallery hours are 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday.
